Right... so we have had a brainwave. And it's a good one. Monday is typically a laid back day for us in Soho, and it is also the hospitality industry day off. Perfect time to swing by the shop and see what we have in store.
The Ingestre Place shop used to be, amongst its many many other incarnations, a record store. Indeed, when we were renovating it we uncovered piles upon piles of records. Stuffed into every crevice and stacked in every cupboard. Before you lose your mind over the Cuerdale Hoard but in vinyl, none had sleeves, the majority of them looked a bit trashed, and there were more copies of "respectable" by Mel and Kim than I thought had ever even been pressed. Inspirational, even if they don't pass close inspection.
We have decided to do a THING every Monday where Tom gets out his record player. Strictly no Mel, no Kim. Rather a chilled mix of reggae and funk. Not actually MIXED, scratch perverts we are not. But played one after the other with likely some pauses in the middle when we forget it's vinyl and not apple music and we actually need to get out hands dirty and change it over.
The format each week will also include some kitchen kit on the counter for you to TRIAL. A type of knife, a tool we think is a kitchen essential... you get the idea. Very hands on (watch your fingers), very cool. We will also have something on the counter for you to TASTE. Something we've picked up, sell in store or a product we are testing. Different thing each week.
Open 11-7pm. 12 Ingestre Place, Soho W1F 0JF
